ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Staff Sgt. David Barrios, 97th Medical Group public health technician, is deemed the Innovative Airman of the Week, Aug. 28, 2012. While managing the Wing Deployment Medicine Program, Barrios assisted in many aspects of Public Health such as food inspections, fetal protection and communicable disease interviews. During the Wing exercise, Burning Spear, Barrios medically qualified more than 200 simulated deployed personnel. Aside from his additional duties, Barrios is an active member of the Warriors 5/6 and is involved in various Wing events. ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Staff Sgt. Alexandria E. Swanson, 730th Air Mobility Training Squadron knowledge operations manager, is deemed the Innovative Airman of the Week, Aug. 21, 2012. Swanson single handedly developed 18 critical inspectional programs while assisting in 13 other programs for the AMTS Total Force Initiative unit. ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Senior Airman Maria Manait, 97th Force Support Squadron customer service technician, was deemed a Sharp Airman, Aug. 14, 2012. Manait is a vital member of the 97th FSS customer support team. She issued 3,048 identification cards for Airmen, dependents, and civilian personnel, assisted in processing 3,684 leave requests, in-processed 209 new Airmen, helped 5,661 customers, and processed 132 SGLI forms, verifying $52 million worth of entitlements. ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Senior Master Sgt. Monica Nicholson, Altus Top-3 vice president, presents Tech. Sgt. Carmarius Johnson, 97th Logistics Readiness Squadron, a $100 scholarship check from the Altus Top-3 to be used to help offset costs associated with his continuing higher education. A total of three scholarships were presented this quarter to members of the base who completed the application and were chosen based on what their education goals were.
