ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Airmen assigned to the 97th Security Forces Squadron performed 30-minute shifts of the “Guarding of the Wreath” at Wings of Freedom Park, May 15. In observance of National Police Week and in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day, which is held annually to recognize law enforces killed or disabled in the line of duty, 97th SFS members covered their badge with black tape to honor fallen defenders. ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Airman 1st Class Jaylon Roberts, 97th Security Forces Squadron patrolman, renders a salute while guarding the wreath at Wings of Freedom Park, May 15. Members of the 97th SFS performed 30-minute shifts of “Guarding of the Wreath” in honor of law enforcement officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. Gut Check Obstacle Course
ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Anthony Linares, Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper helps push helps push a Humvee during the “Gut Check” Obstacle Course at Wings of Freedom Park as a part of National Police Week, May 16. The 97th Security Forces Squadron leadership invited out teams from local law enforcement to compete against Airmen from multiple squadrons in an obstacle course that tests endurance and intelligence through eight different events.
