‘Mighty 97th’ Airmen celebrate Pride at color run

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. --

More than 50 Airmen and their families participated in a Pride Month color run at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, June 24, 2022. Airmen from across the 97th Air Mobility Wing ran a 1-mile course while having colored chalk thrown to paint their clothes. Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.
