Innovative Airman of the Week
ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Staff Sgt. Heather Barnes, 54th Air Refueling Squadron KC-135 Formal Training Unit Instructor Boom Operator, was named the Innovative Airman of the Week, Oct. 16, 2012. Barnes spent eight hours filming, editing and producing a new instructional video to allow all egress training to be moved from the aircraft into the classroom. With a cost-conscious culture in mind, Barnes helped the 97th Air Mobility Wing and the Air Force save more that 1,500 aircrew, maintenance and aircrew flight equipment man-hours, and approximately $15,000 annually.
