The 97th Medical Group, Altus Air Force Base, will inactivate the 97th Medical Operations Squadron and the 97th Medical Support Squadron during a formal ceremony, Feb. 12.

The two squadrons were activated on Sept . 30, 1994 in support of the then new Objective Medical Group Initiative which aligned medical organizations with Line of the Air Force organizations. The Air Force Medical Service is restructuring facilities with less than 270 authorized personnel based on service or product lines.

The new organizational structure is called the Air Force Medical Service Flight Path and services will be aligned into three divisions. Lt. Col. (S) Jeffrey Freeland will be the chief of the Medical Operations Division, Lt. Col. Gail Fancher the chief of the Aerospace Medicine Division, and Lt. Col. Roman Cybak the chief of the Dental Division.

"This is an organizational realignment that will have no impact to patient care," Lt. Col. Kras Krzysztof , administrator, 97th Medical Group, said. "The 97th Medical Group will continue to carry-out its mission of supporting our Airmen and providing up to date healthcare to their families."
