Colonel JOSHUA A. MOORES

Colonel Joshua A. Moores is the Director, Joint Integrated Space Team –
NORAD/USNORTHCOM (JIST-NORTH) where he and the Team lead USSPACECOM
integration to empower partners to leverage the full potential of space power. On behald of
the CDRUSSPACECOM, the Team monitors, coordinates, advises, educates, and assists
connecting USSPACECOM with USNORTHCOM stakeholders while supporting
campaigning, planning, and operational activities.

Prior to his current assignent Colonel Moores was the Chief of Crisis Response, Global
Space Operations, J-3, United States Space Command. He graduated the NATO Defense
College in June 2024 and prior to that was the Director, Commander’s Action Group, Air
Mobility Command.

Colonel Moores received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 2006
where he majored in Systems Engineering Management. He has since earned a Master of
Aeronautical Science, was a 2013 White House Intern, and an Air Force Fellow assigned to the State Department’s
Presidential Special Envoy to Defeat ISIS and the Secretary of the Air Force (SECAF) and Chief of Staff of the Air
Force (CSAF) Commander’s Action Group.

He Commanded the 344th Air Refueling Squadron, America’s first KC-46 squadron, and was a Strategic Planner for
Transregional Threats, J-5, Strategic Plans and Policy, Joint Staff where he was responsible for the Department of
Defense inputs to the interagency Defeat the Islamic State Campaign Plan. He also served as the Protocol Officer to
the 18th and 19th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Colonel Moores is a command pilot with over 3500 flying hours and 900 combat hours in support of Operation Iraqi
Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Enduring Freedom and has deployed as a C-130 Airlift Execution
Officer to the Air Mobility Division, Combined Air Operations Center, Qatar.
