ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Oklahoma’s Secretary of Military and Veteran Affairs Ben Robinson, retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen., and Mr. Joel Kintsel, Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs Deputy Director, were welcomed to Altus AFB, Okla., May 29, 2019. Robinson entered the Air Force in 1973. Throughout his career Robinson served as the Chief of Training and Evaluations, Chief of Tactical Air Control Systems Brand, Commander of the Space Defense Operations Center, Chief of the Space Control Operations Division for U.S. Space Command and many other positions. He is also a command pilot with nearly 5,000 flying hours. When he retired, he was the 552nd Air Control Wing Commander at Tinker AFB, Okla. Kintsel is an U.S. Army National Guard Veteran and currently serves as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate. Prior to coming to the ODVA, Kintsel served as the Parliamentarian for the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Robinson and Kintsel both toured Altus AFB and were educated about the Mighty 97th and its mission.
