Just a phone call away - Employee Assistance Program Published Aug. 26, 2019 By Senior Airman Cody Dowell Altus Air Force Base Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Many are familiar with Military OneSource for active duty members; for Air Force civilians there is the Federal Occupational Health Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAP is available for federal employee use to include AF civilians, AF affiliated contractors and their household members, including students away at college. Whether it is finding legal services, a day care, home repair services or vacation planning, EAP will do the research and provide reliable options. This ultimately saves the employee or family member hours on the computer and phone searching for a solution. This service is individually available to members for personal help, including calling on behalf of someone else to help a Wingman or their family, or connecting members to local resources to use, all free of charge and outside the military treatment options. Each agency has different types of coverage. What someone could qualify for is based off of insurance coverage and their employment status with a federal agency. This program has not been a part of the Air Force culture for long, so it is important members become aware of it. Everyone has challenges they face in their everyday lives, which can make it hard to be present in the work place or at home. This program helps match members with a plethora of resources.Civilian personnel and their supervisors should familiarize themselves with the program to assist facilitating aid to members in case they need it.For assistance call 1-800-222-0364 (1-888-262-7848 TTY), or their websites www.FOH4You.com or www.worklife4you.com (use code USAF).For more local information about the program contact the Violence Prevention Integrator at 580-481-7951 or the Community Support Coordinator at 580-481-5824 to help guide members with the process and more information about the program.
