ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. --

The Altus Air Force Base Fire Department and members of the Mighty 97th honor those who perished during the attacks of September 11, 2001 by hosting a 9/11 memorial ceremony, September 11, 2019, at the Altus AFB Fire Station, Okla. This ceremony began with the posting of the colors and the playing of the National Anthem followed by the reciting of the Police Officer, Paramedic and Firefighter Prayers by 97 AMW Airmen. The purpose of this ceremony was to honor and remember the 2,977 people who lost their lives on this day 18 years ago during the attacks on 9/11. To conclude the ceremony, the Four Fives Bell was rung.
