To help educate the local community on the importance of cybersecurity during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the 97th Communications Squadron at Altus Air Force Base visited the Olustee Public School in Olustee, Oklahoma, on October 29, 2020.

During their visit to the school U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Colton Dotson and Senior Airman Dylan Rehbock, cyber-technicians assigned to the 97th CS, showed 1st through 12th grade students examples on how to create a secure password for social media sites.

Their presentation focused on protecting personal information while online through securing social media accounts and changing personal passwords every few months. The 97th CS stressed the importance of keeping oneself and others safe online by following these simple steps.

Since cyberattacks are always possible, the 97th CS recommends all Airmen to keep in mind these practices to help counteract cyber threats.
