ALTUS AOR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 97th Air Mobility Wing Chaplain Corps and the 97th AMW Airman Leader Group hosted the Altus Talent Showcase on November 6, 2020, at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
The showcase allowed members of the Altus AFB community an opportunity to show off their unique skills and talents.
More than 50 Airmen and family members from across the 97th AMW attended the talent showcase to watch 10 Airmen compete for first, second and third place prizes. The showcase took place at the base theater where attendees were given room to safely sit six feet apart while enjoying the performances.
The judges for the showcase included: Col. Judy Rattan, 97th Medical Group commander, Chief Master Sgt. Kaleah Belin, 97th MDG command chief, Lt. Col. Christian Williams, Air Education and Training Command deputy chaplain, Lt. Col. Steven Dabbs, 97th AMW chaplain, and Master Sgt. Gisella Hendrickson, 97th Flight Services Center non-commissioned officer in-charge.
The first place winner was Senior Airman Devon Muldrow from the 97th Logistics Readiness Squadron who performed self-written inspirational poetry. Senior Airman Ashley Tatum from the 97th Security Forces Squadron, who performed a self-written song, was awarded second place, and Senior Airman Nickolas Jernigan-Epps from the 97th LRS was awarded third place for his singing ability. Additionally, Senior Airmen Levi Johnson from the 97th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron received an honorable mention from the judges for his vocal talents.
