ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- This year for Red Ribbon Week, Airmen from Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, spoke at Altus High School to spread awareness of the dangers of drugs. Airmen expressed the dangers of drugs and the effects they can have on the user’s body, legal discipline, the signs of overdosing and how the brain reacts to taking certain narcotics. The Red Ribbon Campaign is the longest-running and largest anti-drug campaign in the United States. The ribbons are a symbol of the commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction caused by drugs.
