The annual Military Saves Week Campaign accompanied by the Military Youth Saves Week Campaign are scheduled to take place Feb. 19-26. This year's theme is, "set a goal, make a plan and save automatically."

The Altus Airman and Family Readiness Center is scheduled to host adult and youth-oriented educational programs and events emphasizing the importance of creating and maintaining a savings plan during the MSWC.

"Military saves week is important because it gives us a chance to remember the importance of setting goals and saving money for emergencies, short term goals and long term goals," said Esley J. Holmes, AFRC community readiness technician.

This campaign is designed to promote healthy financial habits for Airmen and their family members by creating an awareness of the importance in saving money to help them set and reach their financial and personal goals.

"Because of the great sacrifices we make in order to keep our country free, I would like to encourage all military members and their families to save so they can reach their own personal goals," Holmes said.

This is the sixth year of the Military Saves Week Campaign and the third for the accompanying Military Youth Saves Week Campaign.

Service members interested in learning how to save money can contact the AFRC at 481-6761.
