The Summer Sizzlin' Celebration, an event for all base members and their families, is scheduled for 3-6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Wings of Freedom Park.

The Altus Military Affairs Committee and the Committee of 100 are partnering with the base to host the event to celebrate the conclusion of the Compliance Inspection, congratulate the Altus Rodeo Team for earning 10 awards at the Air Mobility Command Rodeo July 23-30, and welcome newcomers and deployment returnees to Altus.

"It'll be a lot of fun," said Capt. Alan Pravel, Summer Sizzlin' Celebration coordinator. "We will have live performances from some local bands, clowns, an inflatable water slide, and plenty of food. More importantly, everyone should come out to celebrate our accomplishments as a wing associated with the CI, AMC Rodeo and to welcome our newcomers and those returning from deployments."

Entertainment will include music by folk-singer Sara Skinner and the southern rock band, Biskut Heads. The 97th Force Support Squadron will also provide two bouncy castles and water games.

Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and water squirt guns. Appropriate, conservative hot-weather attire is authorized for military members.
