Memorandum regarding wear of five finger shoes with AFPTU

Col. Jon T. Thomas, 97th Air Mobility Wing commander, released a guidance memorandum about wearing five finger shoes with the Air Force physical training uniform here, Nov. 12.

According to the memorandum, "In the absences of Air Force guidance, local wear of five finger shoes is authorized with the AFPTU during both unit and individual PT activities. To wear in combination with the PTU, the five finger shoes will be worn with socks and must be black in color."

White toe socks are available to be worn with the shoes.
