Altus AFB 60 percent to CFC goal Published Oct. 22, 2010 By 97th AMW Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 2010 Combined Federal Campaign kicked off October 4, and is well under way at Altus Air Force base. The CFC allows members of the military and government employees to donate money to worthy causes and help those less fortunate than themselves. The base's campaign goal is 100 percent contact and $100,000. "After just three weeks, we've met over 60 percent of that goal," said Maj. Michael C. Coppola, the point of contact for CFC here. "We want to make 100 percent contact and raise as much money as possible for local, national and international charities." There are 15 local and over 4,000 total charities that need help, and there have been many successful fundraisers including a golf tournament, pizza sales and a dodge ball tournament. Upcoming fundraisers include a fitness challenge, a donut sale and a coin wars competition. Please contact Maj. Coppola at 481-7139, the Wing share point, or your Group POC with any questions regarding the campaign or any fundraisers. The campaign ends 12 November.
