Altus Automated Prescription Machine extends times Published May 25, 2010 By Senior Airman Leandra D. Hernandez 97 Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 97th Medical Group has changed the location and times of the Automated Prescription Machine to better serve patients as well as save the pharmacy 140 hours of work annually. The APM has been made more accessible by extending hours of operation and placing it in the foyer of the clinic. For your next refill call 481-5257 or 1-800-522-4203 and select option number two (APM) for your location. You will need your prescription number to place the refill order. If you do not know your refill number, select the option to speak with a pharmacist and they will gladly help you. Some items cannot be dispensed at the APM--controlled substances, high dollar medications, refrigerated items, or large containers such as insulin syringe boxes. Your prescription will be in the APM when you come to retrieve it. APM is available Monday-Friday 0630-2100 and Saturday 0900-1400. "Not only will customers not have to wait in line for refills at the pharmacy window, but now they can access their medications after duty hours and on Saturdays," said Tech. Sgt. Michele Dunnigan, 97th Medical Support Squadron. The pharmacy now has a 100% call-in policy on refills, meaning all refills must be called in. As long as you are calling your refill order in, using the APM to pick up refills can save patients time too. Patients can sign up at the pharmacy counter to receive a PIN for the APM. For more information call the pharmacy at 580-481-5257, option 1, then option 4, during normal duty hours.
