Every week, a member of the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing is selected as the Warrior of the Week. This individual is recognized based on outstanding performance, good conduct, work ethic, and most importantly, for a job well done.

Meet the Warrior of the Week, May 22, 2010. Senior Airman Aaron Forgette is a 376th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels distribution operator deployed from the 97th LRS, Altus AFB, Okla. He hails from Amarillo, Texas.

Here's what Airman Forgette has to say about himself and deployment to the Transit Center at Manas:

What do you do on a daily basis at Manas? I conduct check-point operations when I first arrive for duty, and respond to fuel requests throughout the night. In my off time, I enjoy exercising at the gym.

What do you enjoy about being at Manas? While deployed, I've realized the most enjoyable thing I've done here is make lasting friendships.

Why did you choose to serve in the military? My life required a change of pace, and knowing the stability the military would provide me made it, hands-down, a "no-brainer."

How does what you do contribute to the GWOT mission? The contributions I make on a daily basis make a lasting impression on the Global War on Terrorism. For me, fuel is the "blood-line" that keeps our mission going. Moving equipment, supporting combat air sorties, or transiting other military members...knowing the importance of how my job impacts others makes me extremely proud.

Family: Mother, Vicki Forgette; father, Mike Forgette; brother, Landon Forgette

Time at Manas: 4 months

Time in military: 3.5 years

Greatest accomplishment: I'm still working on that!

Goals you want to achieve or meet while at Manas: Making this place better than what it was when I arrived and becoming more physically fit

Hobbies: Writing, playing the guitar, and drawing

Your best habit: Going to the gym on a daily basis and not making excuses to sleep in

Favorite Quote: "There's a million different ways of looking at something, but once it's all said and done...there's still a million ways of looking at it." -Aaron Forgette

Favorite movies: Fight Club and Donnie Darko

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her: My father - I learned what to do and also what not to do.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why: Nikola Tesla. I think if he would have had time to finish his work, we would live in a completely different world. I'd like to see just what he was accomplishing is his last years of solitude.
