Wings of Freedom Open House and Air Show

New aircraft and static displays have been added to the Wings of Freedom Open House and Air Show at Altus AFB, Okla., scheduled for May 2, 2010.

The highlight of the event is the United States Air Force Thunderbirds performance. Other military performers scheduled to perform are the United States Air Force Academy Glider team and Wings of Blue Parachute Team, C-130J demonstration, B-1B flyover, Mobility Air Forces Heritage Flight, and Altus AFB's C-17s and KC-135s performing multiple demos (airland, airdrop and air refueling).

Civilian performers include the TORA TORA TORA Pearl Harbor re-enactment demonstration, Randy Ball - MiG-17, Kelly Pietrowicz - Pitts S-2B, Greg Shelton and Ashley Battles (Stearman solo aerobatics and wing walking act and their Grumman F4 Wildcat), the Cavanaugh Flight Museum C-7/C-47 and AD-5 Skyraider (Tora aggressor and Legacy flight), and "Jive" Kerby - T-33 Shooting Star.

Planned static displays consist of almost every aircraft in the United States Air Force inventory, plus aircraft from Delta, FedEx, Cirrus, Cessna, Beechraft, L3, NASA, Boeing and Northrup/EADS. Also on display will be aircraft from the United States Navy and Marine Corps, plus United States Army helicopters, HMMWVs, rocket systems and artillery.
