The 97th Air Mobility Wing has recently completed the 2009 AETC/IG Unit Compliance Inspection, an assessment conducted to evaluate mission areas critical to the performance of the base. After several days of job performance inspections, a Major Accident Response Exercise, and personnel records assessments, Altus AFB received an overall rating of "Excellent," exceeding mission requirements.

More than130 UCI inspectors from AETC conducted the assessment from September 13 to September 22, 2009. Areas evaluated were Operations, Aircraft Maintenance, Support Functions and Medical, along with other mission supporting agencies. The demanding 9-day evaluation of the wing's mission is a detailed analysis of the base's far-reaching responsibilities.

The following areas were rated an "Outstanding" level of achievement: the 97 AMW Commander's Items, Wing Plans and Programs, 97 OG Intelligence Flight, 97 OSS Current Operations Flight, 97 SFS S4-Logistics Flight, and 97 AMW Programs Management Unit Training. Congratulations to the airmen of the mighty 97th!
