97 AMW, 97 OSS win command-level awards Published Nov. 19, 2007 By Senior Airman Clinton Atkins 97th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs Altus Air Force Base, Okla. -- The 97th Air Mobility Wing was recently awarded the 2008 Commander in Chief's Installation Excellence Award and the 97th Operations Support Squadron won the Special Recognition for Installation Excellence Award. 97 AMW and 97 OSS are the winners for the Air Education and Training command. The CINC's Installation Excellence Award recognizes the outstanding and innovative efforts of the base personnel who operate and maintain U.S. military installations and the Special Recognition for Installation Excellence Award is for organizations that demonstrated innovative and imaginative thinking leading to noteworthy achievements. Both units will now represent the Air Education and Training Command at the Air Force level.
