Demetris Threatt, 97th LRS chief enlisted manager. In 2005 the 97th LRS supported Altus Air Force Base's training syllabus by rigging, loading and recovering more than 840 airdrop loads. They did this while having 223 Airmen deployed. The squadron also constructed a dual row air drop system which maximized the C-17 load capacity. Forty-seven members from the 97th LRS deployed with the 97th Air Expeditionary Group to provide logistical support after Hurricane Katrina. They deployed 181 short-tons of life saving equipment and supplies to the devastated area. The squadron managed AETC's largest fuels account. They issued 63 million gallons of JP-8 and other fuels and off-loaded an average of 31 commercial tank trucks daily. "We have a great team and our personnel continue to provide great support to our customers," said Chief Threatt.
