ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- From June to July 2025, Altus Air Force Base bid farewell to outgoing group, squadron, and wing commanders while welcoming their successors during a series of change of command ceremonies.
These base-wide events honor the passing of command from one commander to the next and are generally held every two years for each squadron.
This year, Altus AFB welcomed new commanders to the 97th Air Mobility Wing, 97th Operations Group, 97th Operations Medical Readiness Squadron, 97th Force Support Squadron, 97th Communications Squadron, 56th Air Refueling Squadron, 58th Airlift Squadron, and the 97th Comptroller Squadron.
