Altus Air Force Base Airmen participated in a local career fair at Altus High School, Altus, Oklahoma, March 11, 2026.

Airmen had the opportunity to share their experiences, answer questions, and highlight the many career paths available in the U.S. Air Force. From aviation and engineering to healthcare and cybersecurity, our Airmen were proud to show students how service can open doors to purpose, education, and leadership.

“Many of the civilians who work at Altus Air Force Base grew up in this area, so the partnership between Altus Air Force Base and our local schools is incredibly important,” said Gwen Brakebill, Altus Air Force Base school liaison. “The career fair helps students see that there are career opportunities close to home, that there are a wide range of opportunities available in the military, and provides students the opportunity to have more casual conversations, make personal connections, and better understand what is offered behind the gates of Altus Air Force Base.”

Altus AFB’s participation in the career fair with Altus Public Schools highlights the base’s ongoing commitment to supporting local students and strengthening its partnership with the community through meaningful engagement and mentorship.
