Members from the 97th Air Mobility Wing, along with family and friends, joined in celebrating Altus AFB's newest Senior NCOs at Club Altus Aug. 8, 2014.

The Senior NCO Induction Ceremony is a long-standing tradition within the Air Force to recognize the achievement of reaching the rank of Master Sgt. and the selfless sacrifice it takes to get there.

Chief Master Sgt. Gerardo Tapia, command chief of Air Education and Training Command, imparted words of motivation, inspiration and leadership as this year's guest speaker for the event.

"As we celebrate your accomplishments, your accolades, your sacrifices and ultimately, your induction into the Senior NCO core, what are you going to do to motivate, inspire and lead your Airmen?" asked Tapia. "I can assure you that your Airmen will be looking to you for answers. Tonight, the gala is all about you, but, come tomorrow it will be all about your Airmen."

A total of 12 Technical Sergeants from Altus AFB were recognized during the ceremony. The Technical Sergeants are slated to be promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant within the next 12 months.
