Airmen donate blood through OBI
ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Carol Demmel, Oklahoma Blood Institute phlebotomist, injects an intravenous needle into the arm of U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jerome Duhan, 97th Communications Squadron systems administrator, during the Altus AFB blood drive inside the chapel activities room Sept. 27. Before the “sticking” process, the needle and point of puncture are sterilized to keep the donor from getting any infection. The Oklahoma Blood Institute is a local organization that collects and donates blood to more than 140 medical facilities in Oklahoma. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Dillon Davis/Released)
