The 2013 Combined Federal Campaign is scheduled to run from Sept. 16 to Oct. 31.

According to the 2013 CFC brochure, the campaign's mission is to support and promote philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all Federal Employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

"Altus AFB has set a goal of $90,000 and to make 100 percent contact with all base personnel," said Capt. Bryce Remkes, 58th Airlift Squadron pilot scheduler.

Group and squadron point of contacts are to contact every member in their units to explain what the CFC is and how to make a donation.

With more than 4,000 charities participating in the campaign, Airmen and civilian employees have the opportunity to make contributions through payroll deduction and cash donations.

"[The CFC] is important because it's the best and easiest way for military and federal employees to donate to a list of charities of their choice," Captain Remkes said.

Continuing a long-standing tradition of selfless giving, Altus AFB raised approximately $117,000 for charitable causes around the world in 2012 alone. The CFC as a whole raised more than $258 million dollars.
