The 97th Air Mobility Wing participated in a Veterans Day Ceremony with a local Veterans of Foreign Wars post Nov. 11, 2018 in Altus, Oklahoma. The ceremony involved wreath layings, a 21-gun salute and a banquet for both veterans and active-duty military. This year marked 100 years since the end of World War I.

"We can never measure the full value of what was gained in the sacrifice of our veterans. We live every day in the comforts of peace and the and the gifts of freedom...America will never forget its veterans and how much they have given. We wouldn't be the land of the free if we weren't the home of the brave," Lt Col Steven Thomas, commander of the 97th Civil Engineer Squadron.
