ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- From May through July of 2023, Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, bid farewell to outgoing group and squadron commanders, and welcomed new commanders during numerous change of command ceremonies.
These base-wide events honor the passing of command from one commander to the next, and are generally held every two years. This year, AAFB welcomed new commanders to the 97th Air Mobility Wing, 97th Operations Group, 97th Operations Medical Readiness Squadron, 97th Force Support Squadron, 97th Civil Engineering Squadron, 97th Communications Squadron, 56th Air Refueling Squadron, 58th Airlift Squadron and the 97th Comptroller Squadron.
