On average, military families move once every two years. As a result, they regularly face the confusing array of choices when it comes to TV, internet and phone services available at their new duty station.

Fortunately, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service is taking the guesswork out of setting up communication offerings with its Exchange Home Services program.
This new initiative allows military families in the continental United States go online to compare local offerings for TV, Internet and telephone, individually or bundled, to ensure they are receiving the best deals in their area.

By logging onto www.aafes.com/HomeServices or by calling 1-877-836-5205 and simply providing a street address and ZIP code, on- or off-base, shoppers can easily make side-by-side comparisons of features and prices from top providers.

In order to search, you must have an address at the installation you are moving to. Your sponsor should be able to provide an address to use for an estimate, if not an actual home address.

A search for deals at Altus AFB show one internet provider, with deals for differing levels of service ranging between $60 to $190. Phone services from one listed provider, vary from $31 - $45. One television provider offers different packages from $20 to $85. (Please note these prices are subject to change).

"Exchange Home Services will not only make life easier for those that are PCSing, but also for those who just want to shop smarter by comparing their current service to other options available to them," said Mark Morell, Vice President. "They simply make their selection and then schedule start-up, all online or through a call center."

Once you choose a package or set of packages you like, service members can select billing and other customizable options, and then place their order. AAFES does not provide the Internet, TV, or home phone services; the Exchange Home Service aggregates the best offers from regional and national providers so that military customers can easily compare and save on these services, according to exchangeshomeservices.com. This aggregation service is free to authorized base exchange users.
