ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Tom Buchanan, Lugert-Altus Irrigation District manager, explains the function of a water filtration system to service members assigned to Altus AFB Nov. 9, 2011. The system removes debris from the water which then goes through a second filtering process to remove bacteria. After the water is cleaned it is sent to local farms during the dry season to help grow crops.
