HIMARS flies 'gray tail' airlines
The tail of an Altus AFB C-17 "Globemaster III" stands high in the air overlooking two High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems at Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport Sept. 16. A group from Product Manager Field Artillery Launchers, Precision Fires Rocket and Missiles Systems, Fort Sill Master Gunners Division, Lockheed Martin, and L-3 Communications loaded the launchers on the aircraft to test an upgrade to the Universal Fire Control Systems on the HIMARS. The upgrade, called "Hot Panel" is meant to allow the fire control system to track the HIMARS global position while it's transported in flight. (U.S. Army photo by Marie Berberea)
