Record-breaking blizzard
An Altus KC-135 received a fresh coat of snow when a blizzard hit Altus Nov. 30. The snowfall, which lasted from early morning to late evening caused the base to go to minimal manning. Altus Air Force Base received 5-1/2 inches of snowfall, breaking the previous record of 3.9 inches for the month of November. The cold front brought in record-breaking temperatures as well, sinking as low as 4 degrees the morning of Dec. 1. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Joshua DeMotts)
