Altus A-Team implements cost saving, eco-friendly equipment

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Channel 7 news crew from Lawton, Okla., interviews George Corey, 97th Maintenance Directorate survival equipment supervisor, about the new waste water treatment system. Mr. Corey developed the idea of the environmentally friendly system, which will drastically reduce the amount of exported waste from more than 27,000 pounds to less than 10 pounds annually. The water cleaning system uses biological media to consume the hazardous waste, which in turn creates a reusable supply of cleaning water. The new system will save the 97 AMW more than $47,500 per year. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Airman 1st Class Leandra D. Hernandez)
