ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Gayle Abernathy, Altus High School teacher, lays inside a U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker boom pod, as a part of STEM Faculty Development Day to learn about science, technology, engineering and math career fileds, Aug. 8. The STEM program offers teachers and students opportunities to meet with a variety of career specialists who aid to establish the pace of technology advancements and help diversify the student talent pool.
