Fueling the mobility mission
ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Airman 1st Class Austin Cantelmi, 97th Logistic Readiness Squadron fuels operator, takes a fuel sample from a filter separator at the pump house to check for water and sediment, Jan. 28, 2015. The fuel must remain clean and serviceable to ensure mission completion. If the fuel is not checked properly, and bad fuel is serviced to an aircraft, it could result in a crash, costing not only an expensive aircraft, but also loss of life.
