Kelvin Negrini, 97th Communications Squadron infrastructure technician was named Innovative Airman of the week, July 10. In addition to maintaining the base network, Negrini performs duties as Communications Security Responsible Officer and Government Purchase Card holder. Negrini singlehandedly identified and developed a corrective solution for a network-wide McAfee anti-virus issue that caused client computers to significantly slow down. When this occurred, it caused programs like Lotus Forms Viewer to completely stop working for most network users. He identified the types of files and associated the locations to create a detailed exemption request to exclude these files from the MacAfee anti-virus scans. Negrini tested the successful configuration, forwarded it to the Network Operations and Security Center for implementation Air Force Network-wide. His actions resolved the significant network slowdown that affected users across five Major Commands. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Franklin Ramos / Released)
