Innovative Airman of the Week

David Henry, 97th Maintenance Directorate aircraft mechanic and quality assurance inspector, was named Innovative Airman of the Week, April 29. As the base KC-135 Stratotanker weight and balance monitor, Henry noted that several missed or late missions were caused by incorrect mission load configurations. Identifying the communication issue, Henry created a Maintenance Operating Instruction with specific details about configurations. He then augmented that instruction with a memo of understanding between Operations and Maintenance groups about the process. Altus has experienced no missed missions or delays for this issue since Henry took action. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Levin Boland)
