Innovative Airman of the Week

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Capt. Linsay Auerbach, 97th Training Squadron chief of KC-135 Stratotanker wing training, reduced waste and increased efficiency in the KC-135 training programs. Through her efforts restructuring four KC-135 pilot training syllabi, Auerbach found that 15 training days per course could be eliminated by reorganizing the training flow and more efficiently utilizing the available instructors. This equates to a 17 percent reduction in the number of academic training days and will save more than $50,000 per year in student temporary duty costs, while maintaining the same training quality for the students. The time savings can also be reinvested to increase the number of classes offered to the Air Force and partner nations. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Klynne Pearl Serrano / Released)
