POW/MIA Ceremony

Military members assigned to the 97th Air Mobility Wing, Altus Air Force Base, Okla., stand in formation during a moment of silence at a Prisoners of War/Missing in Action ceremony formation Sept. 17. The POW/MIA ceremony is held annually to remember those who have sacrificed their lives for their country at the base Wings of Freedom Park. The ceremony takes place during sunrise to help usher in the start of a new dawn/new hope as well as facilitate the electronic display of the names of the military members from Oklahoma still listed as missing in action.
