ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla.-- BEFORE: The newest arrival to the Wings of Freedom park is a KC-135 "A" model. This is the original version of the Stratotankers first delivered to the US Air Force in 1957.The KC-135A on display is being painted in this photo, as part of a refurbishing project atht shows the pride 97 AMW takes in our heritage. This wing was a tenant unit at Altus AFB as part of the Strategic Air Command, according to Richard Guinan, 97th AMW Historian.
