ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- (From left) Senior Airman Raymond Salazar and Ryan Gava, Airman 1st Class Chris Schaaf, and Airman 1st Class Thomas Baszler raise the flag at the Wings of Freedom Park on Feb 3. A 1 1/2-inch thick coating of ice forced the base to take down the flag Jan. 28. The flag raising ceremony symbolizes the determination and resiliency of all Altus Airmen as they recover the base from the worst area storm in 62 years. Airman Salazar hails from the 97th Communications Squadron, Airman Gava is from the 97th Civil Engineering Squadron, and Airmen Schaaf and Baszler are both from the 97th Medical Operations Squadron.
