ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. - U.S. Army Staff Sgt. John Bernard is one of several Army Soldiers that have received photographic assistance here at Altus Air Force Base Jan. 15. Due to an overbooked schedule at Fort Sill, Army Soldiers had to make the long drive to the Altus Air Force Base Photography Studio to have their photos taken for promotion boards. Unlike the Air Force, Army personnel must submit a DA photo, 4x6 at 300 dpi wearing their Class A uniform, to the promotion board to get promoted. DA photos are much different than standard Air Force photos. They include the Soldier’s personal information in white lettering in the upper left hand corner and also contain the first initial and last four of the SSN of the photographer in the upper right hand corner. Although Altus photographers do not typically do Army DA photos, the photographers have been trained to be capable of fulfilling such a task. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Airman 1st Class Tiffany M. Deuel)
