Military leaders tour local aircraft factory

Col. Stuart Shaw, 97th Air Mobility Wing vice commander, (L), and other Altus Air Force Base commanders toured Quartz Mountain Aerospace aircraft factory Oct. 21. The local aircraft factory CEO Mark Arceiro invited the base’s leadership to visit the 11-E aircraft product area. The Quartz Mountain Aerospace factory, founded in 1992, is the only one operating in the Altus area, and has recently finished the production of its 15th 11-E aircraft.
