Robert Baker has led planning and execution efforts for most base-wide special events including annual Easter Egg hunts, July 4th celebrations, family pool parties, Christmas tree lightings, Tops in Blues Shows, etc. He coordinated with the Air Force Services Directorate to use $5K in single Airman initiative funds for reconditioning and certifying the base’s mobile rock climbing wall. In addition, 10 FSS staff members were trained to provide a safe opportunity for Altus AFB Airmen and their families. He led efforts to get $100K in non-appropriated fund small projects initiative funding to refurbish the water slide at the base pool and he did it while committing $20K in local matching funds. He followed that with acquiring another $132K AF non-appropriated fund small project program award for customer RV storage with $13K local matching funds. His support for the golf course revitalization through numerous coordinated initiatives resulted in a profit and saving the Altus AFB Golf Course from closure.
