Innovative Airman Vera Barber

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. - Vera M. Barber, 97th Maintenance Group airlift tool and equipment storage facility attendant, was recognized for building the bench-stock program within the airlift tool storage facility to ensure compliance, eliminate waste and boost efficiency. Barber cut out 260 stock items no longer in use, saving $129,477, and she identified more than $30,000 of overstock items being maintained in the TSF. Barber’s attention to detail modernized all accounts, items, storage locations, inventories and “shadow board” samples, making the nearly 1,200 item bench-stock process faster and easier to navigate.
