Innovative Airman of the Week

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Senior Airman Paul C. James, 97th Security Forces Squadron pass and registration was named Innovative Airman of the Week Aug. 19. Airman James' initiative led to the creation of an electronic AF Form 797 which linked training tasks to all associated references. His innovation was key in adding these training tools to the electronic tablets located on every Security Forces post providing more than 150 shift working Airmen access to more than 800 tasks. This initiative cut the use of administrative costs, saving the Air Force more than $500 and returning off-duty time to Defenders. Additionally, Airman James created a tracking instrument which monitored the use of Defense Biometric Identification System and identified shortfalls immediately. Airman James, recognizing this tool could assist all bases within the command, provided the product to Air Education and Training Command/A7S who lauded his innovation and benchmarked it for the entire command.
