Thunderbirds speak to future mechanics at SWTC

ALTUS, Okla. – Members of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds speak to Grow Your Own Mechanic program students at Southwest Technology Center, Sept. 12, 2014. The Thunderbirds group included experienced pilots, crew chiefs and avionics technicians who spoke about their experiences while being a part of the Thunderbirds and spoke to the students about what it takes to become a member of the Thunderbirds. The Grow Your Own Mechanic program is an aircraft maintenance technician internship program that was developed in 1999 to provide aerospace jobs to the area.
