Familiarization flight

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. –U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Kaitlin Boston, a 97th Operation Support Squadron air traffic controller, peers out a flight deck window in a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III cargo aircraft as it banks to the left, Feb. 12, 2015. Air traffic controllers from the 97th Operations Support Squadron were able to see what air patterns and other aspects of flying look like from the air, with the main goal of them becoming more well-rounded in the flying process and communication between the aircraft and the control tower. This was a rare opportunity for the controllers to experience a flight on the aircraft they guide every day. (U.S. Air Force Airman U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Nathan Clark/Released)
