Familiarization flight

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Evan Williams, 97th Operations Support Squadron air traffic controller, leans forward in anticipation of a banking turn in a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III cargo aircraft, Feb. 12, 2015. Williams and 11 other air traffic controllers flew with the 58th Airlift Squadron to help them better understand the aircrew side of air traffic. The purpose for the flight was for controllers to be able to bring the knowledge they learned on the flight back to the tower, making them more effective at their jobs.
